Wuzhu coin is the longest used currency in the history of Chinese currency, and it also uses weight as monetary unit. It has a profound influence on the development of Chinese currency for five thousand years In the fifth year of Yuanshou (118 B.C.), Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty, wuzhu coins were issued in the Central Plains, which started the development of wuzhu coins in the Han Dynasty. Until the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, except for some minor changes in the middle (such as the period of Wang Mang's rule), five baht coins dominated the world in 400 years. The five baht coins established the tradition of round square holes in Chinese hard currency coinage. This small copper coin symbolizes the heaven and earth. At the bottom, the two characters of "wuzhu" are cast with seal characters. "Baht" is an ancient unit of weight, one twenty-four of which is one baht, so the so-called "five baht" is actually very light.

Because Wang Mang banned Han, a large number of Han wuzhu were destroyed. Wang Mang ordered that anyone who used wuzhu or collected wuzhu would be severely punished but slightly flogged. The once popular wuzhu money was devastated. In the 16th year of Jianwu period in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu, pushed back the five baht money system which was once interrupted by Wang Mang's reform, which played a positive role in the recovery of social economy. During the period of Three Kingdoms, two Jin, southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, it was an important transition period in the history of China's currency development. In the fifth year of kaihuang's reign, Sui wuzhu became a unified legal currency in China. After the founding of the Tang Dynasty, the five baht coins, which had been used for 720 years, withdrew from the stage of coin history and cast Kaiyuan Tongbao instead. From then on, the coins changed to the year of Tang and Song Dynasties and the money system of Baowen. Some categories that have not been passed down too little are favored mainly because of their high cultural taste and artistic value. For example, the coins of "Huoquan" and "buquan" in Wang Mang's new dynasty of the Han Dynasty used the vertical needle seal script; the nine fold seal script "quanti Tongbao" cast in Renzong of the Northern Song Dynasty was the earliest art character in China and was a treasure for collection. No matter whether the coins are rare or not, those with vague face, defective outline, serious corrosion and poor appearance should not be collected as much as possible. When collecting ancient coins, we should also pay attention to whether there are signs such as moon pattern and star pattern. The identification of ancient coins is to distinguish the date and address of casting by reciting the text, and evaluate its rarity. Generally speaking, those with moon and star marks on the back are more valuable than those with smooth back. Among the coins that are worth co

The shape of coins is round outside and square inside, symbolizing heaven and earth. At the bottom, the two characters of "wuzhu" are cast with seal characters. "Baht" is an ancient weight lecturer unit. One twenty-four times of one baht is one baht, so the so-called "five baht" is actually very light. One or two of the Qin and Western Han Dynasties is 16.1g. In the Western Han Dynasty, the five baht coins included five baht of Prefecture, five baht of Chi (side), five baht of Sanguan, five baht of Xuandi, five baht of Xiao, five baht of Jin, etc. After Emperor Hanwu regained the right of coinage, the central government of Emperor Hanwu unified the coinage. It can be said that after a hundred years of exploration in the Western Han Dynasty and many changes in the weight of the coins, as well as the prohibition of private casting and the permission of private casting swing, the coins with a weight of five baht were made by the official patent.

After that, five baht money was circulated at a fair price. The prices of Zhaodi and Xuandi (86-50 B.C.) were stable, and due to the development of agriculture, the price of grain was lower than that of the early Han Dynasty, with only five yuan per Dendrobium, which indicated that the purchasing power of wuzhu money was quite high. Wuzhu money is the longest and most successful currency in Chinese history. From Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty to Sui Dynasty, wuzhu money became the standard of money casting. Because of its long history and outstanding characteristics, wuzhu coin has attracted the attention of many collectors, which is of great collection value and historical research significance.
